Our history
teamwoodspeed started back in the 70s and 80s, when some would say rallying was at its greatest heights. Dave and Jan Woodford, along with Graham Gibbs and various other members of local East Yorkshire motor clubs were competing in rallies and building cars.
Today, the team operates in very much the same way – with Paul competing in his Fiesta XR2 at hillclimbs and sprint races and Joe and Paul competing in the F1000 National Rally Championship in their Nissan Micra.
The old school team members still turn up to service for the vehicles and spectate at events, and tales of the early days can still be heard.
Very much still a family and friend thing; while the big boys pull into the paddock/service area to greet a team of uniformed mechanics, zip their cars up onto axle stands and begin in depth alterations and servicing jobs, the TeamWoodSpeed boys and girls pull under their gazebo, kick the tyres, check the oil and check their mobile phones for updates from the Formula 1!
