Paul achieves class win at Harewood

Paul Woodford secured a class win at Harewood Hillclimb as part of the Summer Championship on Sunday.

Leading the class by over thirteen seconds in the Ford Ka, Paul returned to Harewood in style. Paul comments:

“The day started well with a damp first run, and the car set up feeling spot on from the off. We were fastest after practice, and as the track dried up the option to switch to the slick tyres was there. But, as we’d run the car in practice on the intermediate compounds, it seemed prudent to stick with what we knew by that point.

I reckon we could have been a few seconds quicker with the slicks, but it was great to return to Harewood and beat the demons, as they say. The car ran faultlessly and I want to thank the whole team for their efforts.

Lastly a massive well done to Tom who completed his competition debut very well – he was fighting over his weight in his class, and was only 4 seconds off his closest contender. The Pug is over 50bhp down on most of the class runners, and with full road set up and no experience Tom showed some true class in my eyes!”

The team hope to return to Harewood in the near future, after a fantastic day’s motorsport at the Leeds based venue. After all, with a win now under his belt, Paul will want to get fully accustomed to the technical course in the rally Ford Ka.
