As reported on this website, Paul Woodford secured his second ever rally podium on the Cambrian rally in Wales this October. The Teamwoodspeed driver co-drove for Tim Rodgers who owns Rally4Real.
In addition to his pace note duties, Paul was presenting the rally for Motors TV. As you’d expect, this meant the Yorkshire-based presenter had a busy day, Paul told us:
“It was a mad weekend – we literally pulled up to the finish in Llandudno and I had to jump out of the car and start interviewing drivers and teams for the TV show. Luckily we had some help from Becky Kirvan who took care of interviews during the day in the service area. Partner to Tim who had a team of three cars out competing, she also had a busy event!”
Star drivers at the event included the 2009 WRC runners up Mikko Hirvonen and co-driver Jarmo Lehtinen, Norwegian Mads Ostberg and Production WRC driver Nasser Al-Attiyah.
Paul and the film crew conducted interviews with drivers at scrutineering and signing on before the event, then at the finish and awards presentation on the day of the rally. The rally followed MC Video’s exclusive access to the M-Sport Ford WRC test at Greystoke the week prior to the event.
The show will be aired on Sky’s premier motor sport channel, Motors TV on 28th November at 3.30pm.
