Paul and the team have worked hard since the Armstrong Massey Stages to prepare the car ready for the Wolds Rally, which runs on the 30th August at Fulbeck in Lincolnshire.
Another round of the ANCC Championship, the Wolds has previously been based at Twyford Wood, but this year makes the move to Fulbeck, which combines gravel/loose and tarmac/sealed surfaces.
A few changes have been made since the last rally, as Paul explains:
“The
biggest problem last time out was
that the rev counter was obscured by my hand, being mounted in the centre air
vent. So, we’ve relocated it to the gauge pod in front of the driver which
should make things a lot more comfortable.”
Aside from this, running repairs were needed to repair damage from the chicane incident on the penultimate stage at Driffield, along with maintenance replacements. The team are more confident with the car and Paul can perhaps now relax a little, safe in the knowledge that the car remained reliable for the entire rally last month. This was the team’s first finish with the Ka, remember!
Stay posted for details of the event, which hopefully will still run despite low entries so far. See here for the event website.
