Tom Hutchings makes his Teamwoodspeed debut
Following news that Paul will return to Harewood to race next weekend, we’re pleased to announce that the event will be a story of two drivers.
Normally in the service area, or underneath the car fixing things, Tom (a.k.a. Hutch) has become a valuable member of the team. A professional mechanic, Tom’s knowledge of motorsport and in particular rallying makes him ideal to help the team with their rally campaign.
However, Tom will be calling on this knowledge and experience at Harewood when he competes in the Road Modified class in a 1400 road-going Peugeot 106. Tom commented:
“Although I’m currently nearing completion of my own Ford Ka rally car, I’ve wanted to get out and compete at Harewood for ages, so this is the perfect opportunity to swap the spanners for a race suit!”
This will be Tom’s competitive debut, and follows his demonstration run in the Ka during the summer at Burton Constable Country Show. The whole team wish him the best of luck, and we’re looking forward to a good showing from both of our drivers.
Although the two drivers will be competing in different classes, due to the different preparation of the cars, we’ll be sure to bring you the best of what is sure to be a frantic, but friendly rivalry.
