Wolds Rally Cancelled
A combination of a date and venue change, together with championship clashes appears to have taken its toll on the Wolds Rally 2009.
Despite a last minute effort by organisers Mablethorpe and District Motor Club to attract entries to the event, 23 entries were not enough to make running the rally practical. The organising team worked very hard to get to this point, so it’s needless to say the disappointment is not just confined to competitors.
Paul and the team had been looking forward to getting back out in the car following their promising result in Driffield, Paul commented:
“It’s a surprise that a venue like Fulbeck failed to attract enough entries to run; especially when you consider that the rally was a round of two rally championships. We’ll be back next year I hope. Fortunately as we’re not doing the championship this year we’re not affected too much, and we’re determined to get out and compete in the car on bank holiday weekend, so watch this space…!”
We’ll update as soon as we know what’s happening at the weekend, but keep Sunday 30th August free if you fancy some octane fuelled action!
