Cortina GT
Prepared to full Group 2 historic stage rally specification, the car was built by Dave and Paul from a rare Series 1 GT.
Preceding the Mini and the XR2 in the Woodford garage was this pristine rally Cortina.
With the Cosworth developed 1500 pre-crossflow engine and RWD, the car was an interesting machine and built to a very high standard. With limited driving experience, the Cortina proved a handful for Paul.
With a bit of RWD experience under his belt he decided front-wheel-drive was a better way to learn about driving in competition. A rear-wheel-drive return is planned in the future!
The car is now being campaigned on the Irish tarmac rally stages – keep an eye out!
